RIED HÖHERECK
Altitude 209 - 306 Meter
Hours of sunshine 2004 h
Soil Gföhler gneis
Höhereck, a ridge between the Kellerberg and the Loibenberg, is a natural jewel with oak groves, dry grasslands and vineyards. The Höhereck is constructed of Gföhler gneiss. This resulted in barren, sandy, stony soils with good water drainage and good rooting. The soils, which are easily warmed up, ensure early budding of the vines in spring.
Up for something new?
The Gattinger family looks forward to welcoming guests to the winery. The wine range can either be tasted in the new tasting room - with a stunning view of the Ried Loibenberg. Or would you like to taste the wines in the middle of the action and get a better overview of the different vineyards? This is possible on the Loibenberg experience platform. You would prefer a new perspective on the Wachau? Not a problem - the wooden boat takes you along the Danube past the region's top single vineyards.
